Daisuke Namikawa is a Japanese voice actor born in Tokyo who started acting at the age of eight and is sometimes mistaken for fellow voice actor Daisuke Hirakawa, as their names only differ by one character when written in kanji.

Acting Career

Despite his wide range of voice casting, he is usually cast as young, kind heroes as Mikage in 07-Ghost, Isana Yashiro in K, Fai D. Flourite in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Jellal Fernandes and his counterpart Mystogan from Fairy Tail, Keita Ibuki in Black God, and Hetalia’s North Italy and South Italy, but he is also cast as cold anti-heroes or villains such Ulquiorra Cifer in Bleach, Hisoka in Hunter × Hunter, Kei Kurono in Gantz, Eustass Kid in One Piece and Toutaku Chuuei in Ikki Tousen.

He is the official Japanese dub-over voice actor for American actor Elijah Wood and Canadian actor, Hayden Christensen. He has also dubbed over some roles that were performed by other fellow actors such as: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tony Jaa, Edward Furlong and Kevin Zegers in Japanese. He made his directorial debut entitled Wonderful World, a live-action film that opened in Japan in early summer of 2010. He also starred in the film itself along with fellow voice actors, Mamoru Miyano,Tomokazu Sugita, Tomokazu Seki, Rikiya Koyama, Yuka Hirata, Showtaro Morikubo and Yuhko Kaida. He won  Best Supporting Actor in the fourth Seiyuu Awards.

Musical Career

Daisuke is in a band with Takashi Fujisaki called Jin-Ger PARADISE, and made a guest appearance in Kiramune Music Festival on November 29, 2009 to sing ‘VoICE’, and ‘EVER DREAM’ (Kiramune theme song) together with other Kiramune Stars. He is the fourth member of Kiramune Artist! His first mini-album ‘I.D.’ was released on June 23, 2010, his second mini-album ‘ROOTERS’ was released on July 13, 2011, and his third mini-album ‘Ring’ was released on February 13, 2013. His single ‘UTAO’ was released on April 4, 2012.


His hobby is handball and he is also skilled at aikido.

Well, this Easter holiday seems to be dragging and to be honest, I am EXTREMELY bored. It’s a good thing that I’m watching G.I. Joe: Retaliation this weekend! I do love all these action films that are being released these days, they really make me happy. I do need a bit of Channing Tatum to perk me up… oh and I can’t wait until Iron Man 3 is released! I mean, who doesn’t love Robert Downey Jr? Aside form that, UtaPri season 2 is here! I’m so happy, I can see Tokiya and Ren again (^^)
