Kenichi Suzumura is a Japanese voice actor and singer raised in Osaka Prefecture. He married fellow voice actress Maaya Sakamoto in 2011.
Acting Career
Kenichi is known for voicing Morley in Macross 7, Hikaru Hitachiin in Ouran High School Host Club, Shinn Asuka in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Sougo Okita in Gintama, Lavi in D.Gray-man, Ryutaros in Kamen Rider Den-O and Masato Hijirikawa in Uta no☆Prince-sama♪. He is called ‘Suzu’ and Muraken by Soichiro Hoshi and his fans and ‘Suzuken’ by other voice actors and fans. He is currently part of the group ‘Nazo no Shin Unit Starmen’ with Junichi Suwabe, Daisuke Kishio, Hiroki Takahashi, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Makoto Yasumura, and Kosuke Toriumi.
At the first Seiyuu Awards in 2007, Kenichi was nominated for Best Actor in a supporting role’ and ‘Best Radio Personality’ which he lost both to Akira Ishida and Masumi Asano respectively. At the second Seiyuu Awards in 2008, he won ‘Best Radio Personality’. At the sixth Seiyuu Awards in 2012, he won ‘Best Musical Performance’ alongside fellow voice actors Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, Kishou Taniyama, Hiro Shimono and Takuma Terashima for the group ST☆RISH in the anime Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love 1000%.
He left Artvision in 2012 and has found his own talent agency INTENTION.
Musical Career
In addition to performing many different character songs in his voice acting career, Kenichi became a singer signed under the Lantis label. As a solo artist he writes all his songs. In his debut year 2008, Kenichi also became one of the main hosts of the annual live music event Original Entertainment Paradise (OrePara), together with other Lantis-artists Showtaro Morikubo, Daisuke Ono and Mitsuo Iwata.
In January, 2010, he gave his first solo concert tour in Osaka (January 10), Nagoya (January 11), Yokohama (January 23) and Tokyo (January 30). His second live tour, in 2011, was held in the same stops excluding Nagoya (Osaka [April 9], Tokyo [April 17] and Yokohama [May 1]). A percentage of the proceeds from the concert was donated to help the victims of the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami. Because of the power shortage the concert was arranged simple to save power and Kenichi performed all songs in acoustic.

His favourite animals are dogs and he has two called Ivy and Momo. Oh geez, cuteness overload! His favourite foods are curry and Pino ice cream. He enjoys cooking and playing video games…I like a man who can cook! Kenichi has practiced Aikido.
